A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a typo. The drawback of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of junk messages, but this problem can be solved by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also vital to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a cloud hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a few features, but it is incredibly simple to work with, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes only a click. All the email addresses that you have created will be listed in this section alphabetically and you’ll simply have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the given address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as simple and takes one more click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server package that we offer will permit you to create a catch-all mailbox without any difficulty even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you’ve created using your domains in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you’ve already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you do not want this feature anymore, you can remove it by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
